The keywords in the title are the most important thing for Google and Bing. Lately, it was explained from Microsoft that they have patented a new algorithm for searching and ranking websites, which ranks sites according to their relevance in the domain name. That’s not new, but they explain it very deeply and they mention how the relevance to a keyword in a URL actually works.

Bing has 4 levels of results matching: 0, 1, 2 and “no match”. Basically the algorithm of Bing explains the URL importance with the following example: If the searched word or phrase is made up of 2 words “cool design”, then the website contains the word “cool” once and the domain name does not contain the word “cool” at all. The same for the word “design”. If the phrase that’s searched in Bing is “cool websites”, then the mark would be 0 or 1. The best working scenario would be “” which will be marked with the best mark 2.

Obviously, Bing took the place next to Google, although it’s too early to talk for competition, as it’s very difficult to keep up with Google in tools, online systems and desktop programs.
