It’s definitely not something that every company can produce, although I would recommend at least trying it. There are some good things about the newsletters and that’s the purpose of this post, to clarify the added value of a potential newsletter as an Ad.

When creating a newsletter there are a lot of things to think of:
- What do your readers like to see in this newsletter?
- Do you produce enough content to send out the newsletter every now and then (once per week for example)?
- How do you know if somebody actually reads it?
- Do you have the enough human capacity to produce the newsletter content?

Do you know that 90% from all received newsletters are not even opened? Some statistics also say that the opened newsletters are closed within 3 to 5 seconds. Why?

There are some techniques you can use to attract more attention to you newsletter. Try to always use alternative texts and instead of images put background colors, as some email clients do not support images or have them auto hidden. Note that the styles have to be declared within the html-elements.

Most important thing is to be able to pass the correct message to the readers. The message they will be interested in.

What to put in the newsletter:
- News (hopefully not repeating and at least 1 or 2 news items per edition).
- Events – organizing or participating in events.
- Videos – not mandatory
- New products (don’t put more than 3 to 5 products)
- Features or testimonials – good to have some filling.

Always keep each produced edition somewhere on your website – it helps the SEO.
